US military finally arrives Nigeria, bombs terrorists in Sokoto

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has announced that the US military has successfully carried out airstrikes against terrorist targets in Nigeria.

Trump made the announcement on Christmas Day, describing the operation as the beginning of further military actions against terrorist groups operating in the country.

According to him, the “powerful and deadly” airstrikes targeted ISIS-affiliated terrorists hiding in enclaves located in Sokoto State, in north-western Nigeria.

Recall that in November 2025, Trump had raised concerns over the killing of Christians in Nigeria’s North-West and North-Central regions, warning that his administration would not allow the situation to persist.

At the time, the US President vowed to strike terrorist groups at their hideouts if the violence continued.

Following weeks of consultations and deliberations with Nigerian authorities, both governments later announced that agreements had been reached on a joint approach to tackling the security challenges.

Subsequently, the US government confirmed that it launched airstrikes on terrorist enclaves in the Sokoto forest on Thursday night.

“In my direction as Commander-in-Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorist scum in northwest Nigeria,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He further declared that there would be no safe haven for radical Islamic terrorism under his leadership.
