Immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has reportedly agreed to heed calls from supporters to contest the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

The development came to light during a high-profile visit to the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, where Bello was said to have yielded to persistent appeals from political stakeholders and community leaders.

According to reports, the incumbent state governor also urged Bello to accept the call, making the appeal in the presence of the Ohinoyi and other prominent traditional rulers, religious figures, and community elders.

After prolonged persuasion, the former governor reportedly gave his consent, signaling a new phase in Kogi State’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 polls.
