Several suspected bandits have been neutralised during a security operation in Keta community, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The operation was reportedly carried out by operatives of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, who engaged armed men believed to be loyal to notorious bandit leaders terrorising the area.

Security analyst Bakatsine disclosed the development in a post shared on X on Tuesday.

According to the report, the armed groups had been linked to attacks on residents, looting of property, and destruction of farmlands in the community.

During the clearance operation, the CJTF reportedly neutralised several fighters loyal to bandit commanders identified as Kachalla Juli, Uti, and Ibrahim.

In a related development, two notorious bandit leaders were reportedly killed following a violent clash between rival armed groups in Tsarika village, Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Bakatsine said the clash involved rival bandit factions and resulted in the deaths of gang leaders identified as Kachalla Liti and Kachalla Sani.

“Reports emerged from Tsarika village in Musawa LGA of Katsina State indicate that bandits engaged in a violent clash among themselves, leading to the deaths of two notorious gang leaders known as Kachalla Liti and Kachalla Sani,” he wrote.

He added that many residents described the incident as a major setback for criminal networks operating within the Musawa/Matazu axis after months of insecurity and attacks on communities.

Bakatsine further prayed for lasting peace and security across Katsina State and Nigeria, expressing hope that divisions among armed groups would weaken their operations.
