The second half witnessed Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala scoring for Nigeria, while Alanna Kennedy netted a late consolation goal for Australia.

In response to the Falcons’ impressive win, Atiku expressed his admiration in a tweet on his official Twitter handle. He applauded the team’s resilience and unity, emphasizing how their triumph showcases the power of collaboration and determination as a nation.

“Bravo, Super Falcons, @NGSuper_Falcons! Your remarkable victory brilliantly encapsulates what we can do as a people and a country when we work together as one,” Atiku tweeted.

With their confidence boosted by the victory against Australia, the Super Falcons are now gearing up to face the Republic of Ireland in their final group game scheduled for next Monday.
