Nigeria beat USA to qualify for U-17 women’s World Cup semifinal
The Nigeria’s U-17 female team on Friday defeated USA to qualify for the semi-final of the competition at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in India.
This is the first time the team would be advancing to the last four in the competition.
The march went into penalty shootout after the 90 minutes ended 1-1.
Goalkeeper Faith Omilana was hero of the day after saving a penalty from USA’s Riley Jackson.
The Nigerian teenagers won 4-3 with Omamuzo Edafe scoring the winning goal.
