Full List of Idoma youths, others arrested over death of MACBAN Chairman, Ardo Risku

The Benue State Police Command has released the identities of 10 suspects arrested in connection with the killing of the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue State, Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed, and one Yakubu Isa.

The suspects were arrested during a coordinated tactical operation carried out by police operatives in Otukpo on the night of June 27, 2026, following what the Command described as intensive intelligence gathering and tactical operations.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, the suspects are:

  • Titus Thyodenda, 25
  • Utibe Sam, 20
  • Owoicho Ameh, 18
  • Sunday Useni, 21
  • Sunday Ogbanje, 46
  • Daniel Raphael, 23
  • Adokole John, 24
  • Samuel Ogazi, 32
  • Agbo Daniel, 25
  • Onazi James, 30

Police said the arrests represent a major breakthrough in the investigation into the killing of the MACBAN chairman and his associate.

Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Cletus C.N. Nwadiogbu, commended the tactical teams and investigators for their swift response, assuring that investigations are still ongoing to identify and apprehend other persons who may have been involved in the incident.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring that all those found culpable are prosecuted in accordance with the law and urged residents to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies and provide useful information that could aid the investigation.

The Benue State Police Command also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining peace and security across the state.

The arrest of the suspects comes days after the Command condemned the killing of Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed and Yakubu Isa, describing the attack as unfortunate and promising that those responsible would be brought to justice.
