The Nigerian military has carried out an airstrike targeting suspected bandits at Dogon Dawa along the Niger–Kaduna–Zamfara border, reportedly killing an unspecified number of the criminal elements.

The operation was disclosed by security and counter-insurgency analyst Zagazola Makama, who said the strike followed intelligence indicating that a large group of armed bandits had gathered in the area to coordinate attacks on nearby communities.

According to Makama, the precision airstrike hit the gathering, resulting in the neutralisation of a significant number of the suspected bandits.

He added that intelligence obtained after the operation indicated that more than 100 motorcycles, believed to have been assembled for the planned attacks and the movement of the criminal groups, were at the location when the strike occurred.

Makama further said a Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) and follow-up intelligence revealed that several surviving suspects, many of them wounded, fled towards the forests between Shadadi and Ma’undu through the Mangwaro axis.

According to the report, the fleeing suspects abandoned their planned operations after the airstrike disrupted their activities.
