Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida, has hailed the fearlessness of the Super Falcons as they advance to the round of 16 in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, emphasizing that they are ready to take on any formidable opponent in their quest for victory.

Securing their spot in the knockout stages with a goalless draw against the Republic of Ireland, the Super Falcons created history by remaining unbeaten in three consecutive World Cup matches for the first time.

In an exclusive chat with Completesports.com, Babangida expressed his delight with the team’s overall performance in the tournament and praised them for making Nigeria proud.

“I want to congratulate the Super Falcons for their remarkable achievement in qualifying for the round of 16 in the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup,” Babangida said with admiration. “Throughout the group stage, the players gave their all and showed incredible determination. I firmly believe they can set their sights on the final and go for the trophy.”

Confident in Nigeria’s capabilities, Babangida asserted that the team harbors no fear in facing any adversary in the round of 16, having navigated through a challenging group that included powerhouses like Australia, Canada, and Ireland.

“It was no easy task to qualify from a group of such strong teams, but the Super Falcons have proven their mettle,” Babangida added. “I have no doubt that they will carry this fearlessness into the next stage of the competition.”
