The Idoma ethnic group of Benue State has once failed to get a national appointment.

This followed the recent appointments of 11 new Chief Medical Directors for the Federal Government’s established medical facilities in the country by president Bola Tinubu.

In a statement signed by the Director of Press, FMoH, Patricia Deworitshe, and made available to our correspondents, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Kachollom Daju presented the letters of appointment for an initial four-year tenure which will take effect from August 1, 2023, to the new CMDs in Abuja.

Among the appointees are Prof Mangwa Kortar, Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Makurdi, Benue State.

This is despite the calls on the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), His Excellency Dr George Akume, to facilitate the confirmation of Dr Agada Enye as the substantive Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, Benue State.

According to the group, under the aegis of Idoma Lawyers in Politics, Dr Enye has proven her mettle during her tenure as the acting Medical Director since her appointment in March.

Enye served as the Head of Clinical Services, showcasing her expertise and commitment to the healthcare sector.

Recall that the presidency also failed to nominated any Idoma person as a minister.
