Supreme Court: It’s time to work with Tinubu – Omo-Agege tells Atiku, Obi
Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared that the recent Supreme Court judgment on the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has brought an end to the political turmoil and leadership contestations that have gripped the nation.
The Supreme Court, in a historic ruling on Thursday, upheld the earlier decision of the Court of Appeal, validating President Tinubu’s mandate. This decision has been hailed as a pivotal moment in Nigerian politics.
Senator Omo-Agege, recognizing the contributions of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi, stated that their electoral litigations had positively impacted the electoral process and enriched Nigeria’s jurisprudence.
In a statement issued by his media adviser, Mr. Sunny Areh, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State commended the Supreme Court and the entire judiciary for prioritizing the nation’s interests and upholding the rule of law.
“The Supreme Court’s ruling is a call to duty, not just for President Tinubu or any political party, but for all Nigerians, especially politicians, to collectively work towards the task of rebuilding our beloved country,” Senator Omo-Agege emphasized.
He went on to express gratitude to the judiciary for its consistent display of an independent and calming disposition, even in challenging times, and urged all stakeholders to set aside political differences and collaborate with President Tinubu to restore Nigeria to its rightful path.
The senator called upon Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mr. Peter Obi, their political parties, and their followers to prioritize the national interest over political rivalry, emphasizing that it is now a matter of duty to the Nigerian people to support the President in steering the nation towards progress and prosperity.
