Francis Ottah Agbo is IDOMA VOICE Man of the Year

The Editorial Board of Idoma Voice Newspapers has named Dr Francis Ottah Agbo, Member of the House of Representatives (9th Assembly), as recipient of its 2023 ‘Idoma Man of the Year’ Award.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by Joshua Uloko, Chairman of the 2023 Award Committee.

The ‘Man of the Year’ award, considered the highest honour in the Idoma community, is reserved for individuals whose public actions inspire hope for a better Idoma.

The committee, in its deliberations, pointed to Ottah’s contributions and monumental projects in the Enone region during his tenure in the National Assembly.

“As the former chairman of the House Committee on Drugs and Narcotics, Ottah played a pivotal role in sponsoring and advocating for crucial bills and motions that directly addressed the needs and concerns of the Enone people.

The committee also commends Ottah’s efforts in fostering job opportunities for Idoma youths in both the public and private sectors,” the statement read.

Uloko urged Ottah to persist in his community engagement even beyond his term in office.

The ‘Man of the Year’ award has a distinguished history, with past recipients including prominent figures such as Chris Morgan, Enenche Obonyilo Peters, Prof Shamsudeen Amali, Ogenyi Onazi, Imelda J, Godshield Orokpo, George Alli, Amb. Dickson Akoh, Abel Success, the late Idoma gospel singer Evang. Otulu Peter, Gordon Oche, Hon. James Oche, Emmanuel Akpakwu and Peter Adejoh.
