Gunmen bomb APP secretariat in Rivers

The Action People’s Party (APP) headquarters located along the GRA axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was struck by a dynamite explosion on Monday.

The blast occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 1 a.m.

Reports indicate that assailants threw dynamites at the building housing the party’s secretariat, causing significant damage to windows, doors, and other property.

This attack comes amidst rumors that State Governor Siminalayi Fubara might be considering moving his supporters to the APP.

A party official, who wished to remain anonymous, labeled the incident as politically motivated. “Yes, I’m a member of the APP. I was informed of the attack around 3 a.m. today,” the official said. “This is clearly politically motivated. The APP is rapidly gaining traction in the state. We urge the police to investigate and apprehend those responsible.”

In response, Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the state police command, stated that she was not yet informed about the incident.
