Nigerian high-life artist Chinedu Okoli, better known as Flavour N’abania, has shared an anecdote about being asked to step down from the stage to make way for a P-Square performance.
In an interview on the ‘In My Opinion’ podcast, Flavour recalled his early music career, which began as a choir conductor and drummer in church. He described a pivotal moment when P-Square’s rising popularity changed his career trajectory.
Flavour recounted, “I remember a time when P-Square had just released ‘Temptation.’ They were promoting a show, and the promoters brought them to City Centre in Enugu while I was performing. My spot was always packed every weekend, regardless of what was happening in Enugu.”
He continued, “When P-Square arrived, their manager told me, ‘Hello, off that thing.’ I had to switch off, hand over the microphone, and take a seat. As soon as Paul of P-Square took the stage and announced, ‘This na temptation,’ the place erupted.”
