Francis Ottah’s defection: Is this the end of PDP in Benue South?

Recently, immediate past federal lawmaker representing Ado, Ogbadibo, and Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Francis Ottah Agbo, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ottah pitched his tent with the ruling party a few days after meeting with Emmanuel Jime, a chieftain of the party in Benue State, IDOMA VOICE observed.

Recall that Ottah lost his bid to return to the Green Chamber after losing the PDP ticket to Aida Nath Ogwuche.

Ogwuche eventually lost the election to Philip Agbese of the APC during the general elections in 2023.

During an interview with IDOMA TV, Ottah had alleged that some leaders of the party, who were probably intimidated by his rising popularity, conspired to deny him the party’s ticket.

Known as Ozigizaga, Ottah is loved by all, following his impressive performance during his four years in the lower chamber.

Ottah was instrumental in the employment of many Idoma youths into civil service, including NDLEA, NAFDAC, and many paramilitary organizations.

Many political observers believe that the defection of Ottah to the APC is a big loss to the Benue PDP family.

They believe that the PDP is gradually losing its strength and collapsing under the watch of Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro.

Just yesterday, two Idoma sons emerged as parallel chairmen of the PDP after separate conventions.

Ex-lawmaker Ezekiel Adaji was announced as chairman of the Abba Moro-led faction, while Chris Adaba Abba was named chairman in another separate convention.
