The Benue State House of Assembly has officially lifted the suspension of six lawmakers who were sanctioned five months ago over alleged misconduct and disruption of legislative activities.

The reinstated legislators, Hon. Solomon Gyila, Rt. Hon. Williams Ortyom, Hon. Blessed Onah, Hon. Simon Gabo, Hon. Anyor Mato, and Hon. Elias Audu were part of the  13 members suspended by the Assembly on February 19, 2025.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Terver Zamber, announced that the decision to recall the lawmakers was reached after they submitted a formal letter of apology to the Speaker and the House.

“The House has lifted the suspension on the six members following their apology letter,” Zamber said.

He confirmed that the lawmakers have been cleared to resume full legislative responsibilities.
