Joint security forces have arrested 25 suspected bandits and kidnappers in a well-coordinated operation along the Katsina-Ala–Takum Federal Highway in Benue State.

According to military sources, 14 of the arrested suspects are confirmed associates of the notorious militia kingpin, Konyo, who has been on the radar of security agencies for his alleged involvement in multiple violent crimes, including killings, abductions, and armed robberies in the area.

The joint operation, involving troops, police, and other security agencies, was launched as part of ongoing efforts to rid the axis of criminal elements and ensure the safety of residents and travelers.

“The operation marks a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the troubled axis,” one of the military sources noted.

The Katsina-Ala–Takum corridor has been a long-standing flashpoint for criminal activity, with frequent reports of ambushes, extortion, and attacks on innocent citizens.

The arrests are expected to bring a measure of relief to communities that have lived under constant threat.

Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that those found guilty will face the full weight of the law.
