BREAKING: Gov Alia establishes Quick Response Squad to fight insecurity in Benue
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has launched a new security outfit known as the Quick Response Squad (QRS), aimed at boosting the state’s capacity to swiftly address security emergencies and protect vulnerable communities.
The QRS is a joint security operation made up of personnel from the Civilian Protection Guard (CPG), Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), local hunters, and the Joint Task Force (JTF).
The squad is designed to respond rapidly and effectively to emerging threats across Benue State.
Governor Alia was represented at the official inauguration on July 8, 2025, by his Deputy, His Excellency Dr. Sam Ode.
The launch shows how the administration’s strong commitment to combating criminal activities, restoring public confidence, and fostering a safer, more secure environment for all residents.
