The Federal Government has approved an upward review of passport application fees, effective September 1, 2024.

This was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the spokesperson of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), A.S. Akinlabi.

According to the statement, the review is aimed at maintaining the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, which is scheduled to take effect from September 1, 2025.

Under the new structure, passport applications within Nigeria will now cost N100,000 for a 32-page booklet with five-year validity and N200,000 for a 64-page booklet with ten-year validity.

However, fees for Nigerians applying for passports abroad remain unchanged, at $150 for a 32-page booklet with five-year validity and $230 for a 64-page booklet with ten-year validity.

The NIS reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality service while ensuring accessibility of passport services to all Nigerians.
