First-class law graduate, Sandra Ochanya Owoicho, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Association of Idoma Lawyers (AIL) for awarding her a ₦5 million cash gift and a fully funded foreign scholarship.
Ochanya, who emerged as one of the top graduates of the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus, shared her gratitude in an emotional message of appreciation to the association’s leadership, senior advocates, and members for what she described as an “overwhelming show of love and encouragement.”
IDOMA VOICE reports that the Association of Idoma Lawyers had during the week hosted a grand reception in Otukpo in honour of four of its members recently elevated to the rank of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), where the education endowment fund in Ochanya’s name was unveiled.
In a statement, Ochanya thanked Chief Godwin Obla, SAN, and the Godwin Obla Foundation for the scholarship and financial support, describing the gesture as a great motivation for young lawyers.
“Your generosity, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of young lawyers are exemplary. You have not only invested in our professional growth but have also inspired us to pursue excellence with integrity and purpose,” she said.
Ochanya also appreciated Chief Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, for his thoughtful gift of a wig and gown, which she described as “an enduring symbol of encouragement and belief” in her legal journey.
She extended similar gratitude to Chief Barrister Paul Edeh for his one-year monthly support, as well as to His Worship, Odatse P. Echo, Esq., for his consistent guidance and counsel since her emergence as a First-Class graduate.
The young lawyer also acknowledged the collective support of AIL President, Dr. Joshua Musa, SAN, and other learned silks and members who contributed to her success story.
“Your confidence in me is a privilege I hold dearly. I remain deeply humbled, loyal, and fully committed to advancing the ideals, vision, and excellence that this association embodies,” she added.
