The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a man identified as Innocent Chukwuma for allegedly using his social media handle to canvass for a military takeover in Nigeria.

A popular security expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a post on his official X handle on Wednesday.

According to Makama, DSS operatives trailed and apprehended Chukwuma in Oyigbo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after monitoring his online activities.

The suspect, who operates the X handle @TheAgroman, had reportedly made several posts calling for a coup and urging Nigerians to support the military.

One of the posts read:

“A coup in Nigeria is needed. Dispose of APC, suspend the Nigerian Government, and join the AES. That is all we need now.
It will happen eventually. Nigerians, the military needs your support now! Only them can save this country.
Only the military can reset this country. Support them.”

The security expert added that a source privy to the development confirmed that the suspect is cooperating with DSS investigators.
