A young Fulani man has raised alarm over the repeated killings of members of his ethnic group and their cattle in Anwume community, Ohimini Local Government Area, lamenting that the incidents receive little to no attention from authorities or the public.

In a video shared on X on Friday, the man expressed frustration at the lack of response from security agencies, despite repeated reports of attacks on Fulani herdsmen and their livestock.

“In Anwume community of Ohimini Local Government Area, many Fulanis have been killed as well as their cows. We have complained and reported to security agencies, but up till now, no action has been taken,” he said.

He questioned why the deaths of Fulani people are seemingly ignored, asking whether they are considered citizens and whether their lives matter.

“Why is it that anytime a Fulani man has been unalived, nobody talks about it? Are we not human beings or citizens of the country? Why does nobody care about our own?” he lamented.

The young man called on both the Benue State and Federal Governments to intervene and provide protection, insisting that the lives of Fulani people and their livestock are valuable.

“We demand justice for innocent Fulani people who have been killed in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State,” he added.

The video has sparked discussion across social media platforms, highlighting ongoing security concerns in Benue State, particularly in rural areas where communities are vulnerable to violence.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incidents in Anwume community.
