Nigeria’s currency, the Nigerian naira, recorded its first official-day appreciation against the United States dollar this week. According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira strengthened on Tuesday to approximately ₦1,447.43 per $1, up from ₦1,448.03 on Monday.

Meanwhile, in the parallel or black-market segment, the rate remained steady at around ₦1,465 per $1 on Tuesday—unchanged from the previous day.

Separately, Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves have surged to a seven-year high. The CBN governor, Olayemi Cardoso, announced that reserves reached about US$46.7 billion as of November 14, 2025, providing roughly 10.3 months of import cover.
