Again, NNPCL reduces fuel price by N20
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again reduced the pump price of premium motor spirit (petrol).
It was observed that monitored filling stations across Abuja on Monday morning, observed that NNPCL retail outlets have adjusted their petrol price to ₦815 per litre, down from ₦835.
This represents a ₦20 reduction in the pump price.
The new price has already taken effect at NNPCL filling stations located in Wuse Zones 6 and 4, along the Keffi–Abuja Road, and on the Kubwa Expressway.
Speaking with DailyPost, an NNPCL filling station attendant, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the price adjustment was implemented on Sunday evening.
Despite the reduction, the ₦815 per litre price remains ₦79 higher than the ₦739 per litre currently sold at MRS filling stations nationwide, which are backed by the Dangote Refinery.
Recall that on December 19, 2025, NNPCL slashed its petrol price by ₦80 to ₦835 per litre amid an ongoing price war in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, triggered by the Dangote Refinery’s reduction of its gantry price to ₦699 per litre.
