Dr Paul Enenche of Dunamis expands scholarship scheme for indigent Church members
The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has announced the expansion of the church’s scholarship scheme to cover indigent members who lack the means to fund their education, particularly at the university level.
Dr. Enenche made the announcement during a church service, explaining that the initiative is aimed at supporting members who have lost one or both parents, have no known sponsors, or are genuinely unable to finance their education due to poverty.
According to him, the expanded scholarship scheme will be open to verified members of the church and home cell units who can demonstrate that they lack the financial capacity to continue their schooling. He directed interested beneficiaries to approach the church office, senior pastors’ office, or their home cell leadership for proper documentation and verification.
“The scholarship is for everyone who is a member of the church, a member of the home church, who has lost father or mother or both, or has no means of sponsorship, or is indigent and cannot send themselves through school,” Enenche said.
He clarified that the scheme would initially cover students in federal and state universities, noting that the church is starting within manageable limits to ensure sustainability and transparency. He explained that the restriction is necessary to avoid excessive financial burdens associated with high tuition fees in some private institutions.
“We’ll start with federal universities and state universities so that nobody comes to say their school fees are five or ten million naira,” he added.
Dr. Enenche expressed confidence that the initiative would provide lasting relief to many families and ensure that financial hardship does not cut short the educational aspirations of deserving youths within the church community.
He assured members that all applicants who can prove their inability to sponsor themselves through school would be given the needed support. “As many who have proof that they cannot go through school because they have no money will be sent through school,” he declared.
The announcement was met with loud applause and celebration from the congregation, as members hailed the initiative as a timely intervention in the face of rising education costs and economic challenges.
