Residents of Kungaboku and Paze in the Federal Capital Territory have fled their homes after a suspected bandit threat surfaced.

According to Vanguard, the letter allegedly found in a pupil’s school bag in a private school, stated that the bandits vowed to attack Kungaboku and neighbouring Paze to avenge their commander’s killing.

Earlier, on March 7, troops of the 7 Guards Battalion, alongside police and vigilantes, rescued 19 kidnapped residents from the area during a coordinated operation around Gidan Dogo in Bwari Area Council.

During the rescue, one bandit was reportedly killed, while others escaped with gunshot injuries.

The discovery of the threat letter prompted authorities to question the pupil, parents, and school staff before releasing them.

The news quickly spread among community groups and social media, heightening fear in the area.

Kungaboku and Paze, near Byazhin in Bwari, have recently experienced multiple violent attacks, contributing to residents’ ongoing anxiety.
