Michael O’Neill predicts Spain vs Argentina World Cup final outcome
Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill has predicted an entertaining and open contest when Argentina take on Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday.
O’Neill shared his thoughts during an appearance on the FIFA Podcast ahead of the highly anticipated clash at York New Jersey Stadium.
Spain secured their place in the final after defeating France 2-0 in the semi-final, while Argentina advanced with a 2-1 victory over England.
The Northern Ireland boss said he was not surprised to see the two teams reach the final and expects both sides to produce an exciting encounter.
“I do think that we are not surprised by the final [Spain vs Argentina] that we have,” O’Neill said.
“I think we will have, hopefully, a great final and an open game as well, I think.”
