2027: John Ngbede, Chris Adaba ‘Mad Lion’ to lead ADC Campaign in Benue South
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched its campaign for the 2027 senatorial election in Benue South, appointing Sir John Ngbede and Chris Adaba, popularly known as ‘Mad Lion,’ to lead the drive for its aspirant, Dr. David Olofu.
The campaign kickoff on Sunday included the inauguration of the party’s advisory council and the opening of a new campaign headquarters. Ngbede will serve as Chairman of the campaign council, while Adaba takes on the role of Director-General.
At the event, Olofu described the launch as the start of a new political direction for Benue South, pledging to focus on leadership that delivers tangible results. He highlighted plans to strengthen grassroots systems, restore security, and expand economic and social opportunities across the district.
Ngbede, for his part, called the initiative “a movement to reposition Idomaland,” noting that the campaign council unites seasoned stakeholders committed to driving the vision forward.
The advisory council brings together prominent figures in politics and professional circles, including former Rep. Godday Samuel, Prof. David Salifu, Chief Patrick Ogbu, Dr. Steve Onmeje, Hassan Saleh, Jacob Ogwuche, Group Capt. Steve Adah (rtd), Igbiri Idah, Okpe Onah, and Samson Okwu.
