ASUU strike update: SERAP threatens to drag Buhari to court
Following the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, on Friday, vowed to drag the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari to court.
According to the group, the decision became necessary following the refusal of the Buhari government to end the ongoing ASUU strike.
In a series of tweets, SERAP wrote: “BREAKING: We’re suing the Buhari administration over its failure to end the strike action by ASUU, which is a violation of the legal obligation to provide access to higher education without discrimination.
“We’re suing the Buhari administration because of its failure to end the strike action by ASUU and allow Nigerian children get back to school violates the right of poor children to higher education, equality and non-discrimination, human dignity, and penalises poor parents.”
