1. Several dead bodies have been burnt beyond recognition after a mortuary at the Agagbe Community in Gwer-west Local Government Area of Benue State was gutted by fire.

A resident of the community, Mr Ikyur, who spoke with our correspondent, said the cause of the fire incident has not been unraveled, saying “it was a shock to everyone”.

2. The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has condemned in very strong terms the action of security personnel at the main entrance of Air Force Base in Makurdi, the State capital.

Governor Ortom on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, was denied entrance at the gate of the Air Force base by security personnel on his way to receive the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

3. The Nigerian Air Force has come under fire over the ‘childish and unprofessional’ conduct of its personnel on Saturday in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

IDOMA VOICE had reported that the governor, who was at the Air Force Base on Saturday to receive the Vice President who was on his way to Taraba State, was bounced by security personnel at the gate.
This action, however, did not go down well with many Nigerians, who described the attitude of the security personnel as “unprofessional and childish politics.”
4. Governor Samuel Ortom and the Nigeria Air Force authorities in Makurdi have resolved the impasse which occurred earlier on Saturday morning when he was denied entry into the Air Force premises to receive Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

The Governor who later received the Vice President on his way back from Wukari where he attended the combined convocation ceremony of the University of Wukari said the Air Force authorities have apologised and he had accepted the apology.

5. Men of the Nigeria Police in Benue State have arrested one Soni Dollar, one of the suspects behind the robbery attacks in Wurukum area of Makurdi, the state capital.

Many dangerous arms were recovered from the suspect.

6.  Some youths in Logo Local government Area of Benue State have arrested a suspected child trafficker and her accomplice.
Narrating the incident, humanitarian workers, Ukan Kurugh said the suspects are currently with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons

7. The Vice-Chancellor of Joseph Sarwaan Tarka University, formerly known as Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Professor Richard Kimbir, has suspended the election of alumni association of the university.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the election has been suspended for 3 months by the VC of the institution over undisclosed reasons.
