Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, Sir John Ngbede, has likened the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Coronavirus ravaging the politics of Nigeria.

He said APC has wreaked unquantifiable havoc on the socio-economic fabric and political culture of the country such as can only be compared to that done by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ngbede stated this while inaugurating Local Government Area Executive Committees of the PDP in Guma, Makurdi and Buruku local government areas of the state, Bemgba Iortyom, State Publicity Secretary, PDP, Benue State quoted him in a statement.

The Benue PDP helmsman charged the newly inaugurated Executives in the various areas to foster harmony and unity of purpose in the party by practicing the principle of inclusion in running its affairs.

He urged the party’s faithful across the state to rise up and defend the administration of His Excellency, Governor Samuel Ortom against the negative propaganda of the opposition in the state, particularly the APC.

According to him, APC, having lost everything in the state, has resorted to false propaganda targeted to mislead the people, such as the opposition party’s recent false claims that politicians decamping into its fold were from PDP, while in truth they were from other parties.

Newly inaugurated Executives in the respective areas pledged total loyalty and commitment to the cause of consolidating on the party’s dominance in Benue by adhering to the directional guide delivered to them by the State Chairman, Sir John Ngbede.

Stakeholders of the party in attendance in the various areas included Executive Secretary of the Benue State Teaching Service Board (TSB), Dr. Frank Kyungun and State Assembly member, Barrister Williams Ortyom in Guma, State Assembly member, Terwase Aondoakaa and Engr. Samuel Utoo in Makurdi, while in Buruku, State Assembly member, Architect Bunde Iyongo and PSA Dorcas Ukpe were personally in attendance with Reps member, Kpam Sokpo and Senator Emmanuel Yisa Orker Jev represented.
