Popular Nigerian comedian, Bovi Ugboma, may be heading to trouble’s way after he wore a T-shirt designed with the Nigerian flag stained with blood in solidarity with those killed at the Lekki tollgate Endsars protest ground on 20 October, 2020, to host the Headies award.

Bovi hosted the 14th edition of the Headies awards on Sunday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, alongside actress Nancy Isime.

However, he has been accused of “displaying Nigerian flag in a bad light” and breaking the Flags and Coat of Arms Act Cap F30 Laws at The Headies.

The online user (@jeffphilips1) who accused him defaulting the law tweeted; “The Flags and Coat of Arms Act Cap F30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 S.7 is against this but we’re in a lawless society, so🤷‍♂️”

The post elicited mixed reactions.

Here are some of the replies are compiled by IDOMA VOICE:

Runtheshowman wrote; “It will also be argued that the photo on Bovi’s shirt is not the flag of Nigeria.

The green white green pattern on the Nigerian flag is arranged vertically.

The photo shows an horizontal arrangement, so it’s not the nigerian flag!.”

AgimOgechi wrote; “The President started it first, by flouting section 215 of the Nigerian Constitution.”

Ennyholar wrote; “But here you are supporting the government that runs the lawless society. Werey.”

Samcleave wrote; “A supporter of the only coupist to usurp a democratically elected in the history of Nigeria is standing up for the constitution, very paradoxical, sarcastic, ironical and oxymoronic.”

Teni Olu wrote; “Even under the criminal code this is wrong. We don’t need to wait for the govt, any citizen can take them up on it, even the police can institute a criminal suit against this.”

Iamdomi3 wrote; “Nigerians were holding this same flag on the 20-10-2020, yet the military and police officers shot at them and murdered them in cold blood. Nigeria belongs to all of us. God bless Bovi. We haven’t forgotten the events of that day. #EndSARS”
