Police arrest four suspected cultists, recover gun in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested four suspected cultists during a surveillance patrol in Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.

During the operation, the officers recovered a locally made cut-to-size gun and a live cartridge from the suspects.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Tuesday.

According to the statement, operatives attached to the Oghara Division intercepted a silver Lexus RX330 SUV with registration number GRA-168AM while on routine surveillance patrol.

“The four occupants were searched, and a locally made cut-to-size gun concealed on the driver was recovered, while one live cartridge was found inside the vehicle,” the statement read.

Edafe added that the suspects were taken into custody and that investigations are ongoing.
