Nigerian celebrity disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, famously known as DJ Switch, has been apprehended by the police in Lagos. As per reports from blogger Linda Ikeji, DJ Switch is presently being escorted to the Magistrate Court in Eti-Osa.

A police insider informed LIB that DJ Switch visited the police station in Elemoro, Ajah on Monday, April 15th, to report a man who allegedly swindled her. The police revealed that the man was detained the same day she filed the complaint and has remained in their custody since.

Subsequently, DJ Switch was summoned on Wednesday, April 27th, to clarify her intentions regarding the accused—whether she desired legal charges or his release on bail, as detaining an accused for over 48 hours is against the law. Allegedly, DJ Switch insisted that the accused publicly apologize, which he reportedly declined. Unable to reach an amicable resolution, the police opted to escalate the matter to court for resolution.

However, tensions escalated as the police were preparing to transport the accused to court, with DJ Switch purportedly using her vehicle to block the station’s exit and allegedly assaulting female officers involved in the case. Consequently, she was arrested for obstructing police duties, resisting arrest, and assaulting officers. The accused was subsequently taken to court and remanded in prison custody.

Currently, DJ Switch is en route to the Magistrate Court in Eti-Osa, where she will face charges of obstructing police officers on duty and assaulting them.
