Enone 2027: Judge me by my record – Rep Agbese tells Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo constituents

The member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Philip Agbese, has urged constituents to assess his performance in office as they prepare to elect their representative in the January 16, 2027, National Assembly election.

Agbese made the call following the publication of candidates’ particulars by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing the exercise as an important democratic process that promotes transparency, accountability and informed decision-making.

The lawmaker said the display of candidates’ academic qualifications and other credentials at local government headquarters across the constituency provides voters with the opportunity to critically examine those seeking public office.

“I am always pleased whenever this exercise is conducted because it gives the people the opportunity to scrutinise my records and reaffirm their confidence in my learning, character and commitment to public service,” Agbese said.

He stressed that the publication of candidates’ credentials should go beyond fulfilling an electoral requirement, urging voters to evaluate the competence, integrity and track records of all aspirants before casting their votes.

According to him, the scrutiny process also marks the beginning of a renewed social contract between candidates and the electorate.

Reflecting on his first term in office, Agbese said his administration had delivered significant achievements across various sectors, expressing confidence that his record would earn him another mandate.

While acknowledging that no administration is without challenges, the Deputy House Spokesperson appealed to constituents for understanding where expectations may not have been fully met.

He pledged to build on the achievements of his current tenure, address identified shortcomings and provide even more effective representation if re-elected.

Agbese appealed to the people of Enone to once again entrust him with the mandate to represent Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, assuring them of greater dedication and responsive leadership in a second term.
