Fatal road crash in Abia, police launch investigation

The Abia State Police Command has confirmed a fatal road accident that occurred near Umuika junction on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway on Sunday. The tragic incident involved a Toyota Sienna Bus operated by Abia Line Network Transport LTD and a truck, resulting in the deaths of eleven people, including two infants.
ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer for Abia State, confirmed the incident to the DAILY POST, noting that an investigation into the accident is currently underway. However, she did not disclose further details regarding the number of victims or their identities.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to a mortuary.
