Real Madrid midfielder Isco has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer, following the expiry of his contract. After spending nine years and winning five Champions League titles with Los Blancos, his journey with them has finally come to an end.

The player published a farewell to the fans of the club after winning their 14th Champions League title.

“I want to thank my teammates, coaches, therapists, workers at Valdebebas and the Bernabeu for all the work and support that everyone needs and that I never lacked. Also want to thank the fans because they welcomed me from the first day,” the statement read.

“By the way, last night I told a friend that I don’t know why the workers are dismantling the structure at Cibeles because the 15th is coming!”

Isco was a key player in Real Madrid’s La Decima victory, and continued to play an important role in the team for the coming years. Over the last few seasons, though, his role had been more of a rotational one. And now, he has decided to move on from the Santiago Bernabeu.

There are rumours that he could link up with Julen Lopetegui at Sevilla this summer. Roma are also an option for him, where he would be playing for another former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.
