‘I’m sorry’ – Davido begs fans, promises to bring Timeless concert to Delta

Renowned Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has apologised to his fans in Delta state who were left disappointed by his absence at the Warri Again event held on October 6, 2023.

The event, which had been organized by Amaju Pinnick, former president of the Nigerian Football Federation, saw controversy swirl around Davido due to his unexpected no-show.

Amaju Pinnick revealed during the event that Davido had been paid $98,000 by the organizers, who additionally arranged a private jet at a cost of $18,000 to transport the music sensation to Delta State. Despite the agreement and payment, Davido failed to attend the event, sparking discontent among the audience.

Responding to Pinnick’s comments, Davido took to Twitter and Instagram to accuse the former NFF boss of corrupt practices within the football administration, citing issues of owed salaries and allowances for Nigerian footballers during Pinnick’s tenure.

In a series of posts on social media, Davido made it clear that no one could prohibit him from performing anywhere in Nigeria. However, he acknowledged the disappointment of his fans in Delta state and issued a sincere apology via his Instagram story.

Davido explained that he had already informed the Warri Again organizers about his unavailability due to a scheduling conflict with his concert in New Zealand. Despite this communication, the organizers proceeded to promote the event using his name, causing confusion and disappointment among his fans.

Expressing remorse, Davido promised to bring his “Timeless Xperience Concert” to Delta State in the near future, aiming to make it up to his fans who had been looking forward to his performance at Warri Again.
