In the latest Npower update on Saturday, February 24, 2024, we explore the current status of the Npower program and its participants in the aftermath of the program’s suspension. Stay tuned for a more in-depth analysis.

The National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), under the direction of Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, initiated a comprehensive assessment of the financial structure of social investment programs. Unfortunately, no definitive information has been disclosed regarding the findings of this assessment.

The National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) is a Nigerian government initiative introduced in 2016 to combat poverty, hunger, and inequality by providing economic and social aid to vulnerable demographics. It encompasses four key programs: N-Power, NHGSFP, GEEP, and CCT.

Furthermore, it is important to highlight that the Federal Government (FG) has scheduled the shortlisting of 3MTT 2nd Phase Fellows for February 29, 2024, as per the Minister’s announcement.

Presently, Npower beneficiaries are facing a backlog of eight months in unpaid stipends due to the suspension of the program. This delay in disbursements compounds the difficulties faced by beneficiaries in the midst of economic challenges.

Despite the suspension, beneficiaries are appealing to the President to lift the suspension on the NSIP program and resume its operations to alleviate the hardships experienced by the populace.
