The Benue Police Command disclosed the arrest of a medical doctor in Rivers State in connection with the disappearance of three children from Benue.

The doctor, whose name remains undisclosed, was apprehended by the Rivers State Police following an alert regarding the missing children.

In a statement signed by SP Catherine Anene, the command’s spokesperson in Makurdi, it was revealed that the children were located in the doctor’s custody in Rumuokoro.

On September 24, the command received a complaint from Mr. Godwin Kpaakpa of Badagry Street, Opposite St. Peters Church in Wurukum, Makurdi, reporting the disappearance of two of his children, Philomena (aged six) and Benedict (about two years old).

The command initiated an extensive investigation and issued a nationwide signal.

The two missing children, along with another child, were rescued from the doctor’s possession.

“On Oct. 20, information was received from Rivers Police Command that in the course of an operation at, Rumuokoro area, they rescued three children from a medical doctor that seem to be the same children earlier reported by Benue Command.

“Fortunately, the two children were identified alongside one other child, Godsgift Julius, whose parents are yet to be identified.

“Philomena and Benedict have been reunited with their family while Godsgift is yet to connect with his family.
