The family of Andrew Godwin Ongaji of Okpokwu LGA of Benue State, has called for justice over the alleged abduction and gruesome murder of their son, Randy Godwin.

The family lawyer, Onyilo S. Paul Esq of Onyilaws Temple and Voice of Truth Chambers, in a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police Command Headquarters, narrated how Randy was allegedly abducted, killed and buried by a former vigilante member.

The letter, a copy, which was made available to IDOMA VOICE, claimed the deceased was in transit from Ugbokolo to Okpoka, headquarters of Okpokwu LG when he got seized and taken captive to Oklenyi Clan (Village) where he was violently killed and buried.

The family averred that such a capital crime which has been duly incidented at the State Police Command should be given adequate and swift attendance to bring the respective culprits to book (as the case may be).

They family also called on the Police Divisional Headquarters and the Area Command Headquarters covering that jurisdiction to fully take over the wheel of social Justice, security and law enforcement henceforth and exterminate the nefarious activities of the acclaimed vigilante group

Meanwhile, when IDOMA VOICE contacted the Benue State Police PRO, Kate Anene, she confirmed the murder of Randy, but said she was not aware if anybody has been arrested in connection with the crime.

“You know, as a police officer, I can’t tell you someone has killed somebody until it the person is proven to be guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. I am aware of the murder of one Randy but I can’t say if anybody has been arrested,” she told our reporter on Wednesday.
