Riot in New Benin Market

Police officers have arrested a man who stabbed a businessman over an argument in New Benin Market Area, Benin, Edo State.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Saturday morning. A source said, “The businessman was stabbed this morning and people thought he died. Meanwhile he was rushed to the hospital where’s recuperating.

Now because of how people are quick to peddle fake news, the rumor that the victim died is causing unrest because the two men are from different tribes. The suspect was rescued by police officers from an irate mob who wanted revenge.”

Meanwhile, police officers are currently at the scene to quell the situation.
