Senator Abba Moro receives organizers of Igede nation’s cup

Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, Thursday, received the Local Organizing Committee of Igede Nation’s Cup in his office.

The Igede Nation’s Cup is an annual football competition that brings together young footballers from Igede Nation to compete for trophies.

Speaking during the visit, the Initiator and Coordinator of the competition, Fada Raphael Adoga, said they were in the Senator’s office to formally inform him of the competition, being their political leader, and to seek his support for the success of the tournament. He said the annual event aimed to sustain peace and unity in Igede land, and also expose Igede youths to opportunities in football. The event billed to commence on Saturday, 12th December, will end on the 2nd of January, 2021, in Oju.

Responding, Senator Moro said he was impressed with the presentation. He said Igede Nation meant so much to him and won’t hesitate to be part of any program that would bring progress to the land, especially as it concerns peace, unity and youth development. He said he would support the organizers to have a successful event and also make efforts to be physically present to witness the final match of the competition. He thanked the Coordinator, Mr Adoga, for the initiative and wished him and his team well.

Mr Adoga was accompanied on the visit by Mr Sunday Ago, a member of the organizing committee.
