The family of Idoma-born Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) personnel, late, Owoicho Emmanuel Ajaama, who was murdered around Anune, along Naka road in Benue State on Sunday, November 22, 2020, buried the officer in tears at Otobi-Akpegede village of Otukpo.

Recall that the late Owoicho was alleged to have been killed by suspected herdsmen during an operation against open grazing.

A family member, who spoke with IDOMA VOICE, however, said they were not pleased with the explanation from the NSCDC.

A close relative who pleaded anonymity disclosed to IDOMA VOICE that “Majority are thinking that they is more to what his colleagues are saying. Where were did they go when Owoicho was being killed and buried.

“We are angry that either someone or a group persons close to our brother have a hand in his death. We demand full and wholistic investigation and possible prosecutions of the perpetrators,” he said.

Meanwhile, an NSCDC official said the corps had no hands in the death of Owoicho. According to the insider, who would not want his name mentioned, investigation into what led to his murder is still ongoing.

“He was not buried as claimed by the so called family member. That is malicious and untrue. I was part of the search team that went looking for him and we discovered his lifeless body around Naka road.

“Whoever spoke to you is not a member of the family. I am in touch with the head of the family and other members who are also part of the investigation.
“The general public should disregard the claim by few persons. We are on top of the situation to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death.

“But, let it be on record that his colleagues had no hands in his death,” the insider said.
