Troops arrest three suspected Lakurawa terrorist informants, logistics suppliers in Kebbi
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, working alongside personnel of the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service (NN SBS), have arrested three suspected Lakurawa terrorist informants and logistics suppliers during an intelligence-led operation in Kebbi State.
The arrest was disclosed in a post shared on Friday by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on his X account.
According to Makama, the suspects were apprehended at about 10:45 a.m. on Monday, July 21, by troops of the Combat Service Intelligence Brigade (CSIB) VII deployed to Kangiwa Village in Arewa Local Government Area.
Citing security sources, Makama said the three suspects were allegedly providing intelligence and logistical support to members of the Lakurawa terrorist group operating in the area.
He added that the suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Division in Kangiwa for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The security sources said the operation is part of ongoing intelligence-driven efforts to dismantle the support networks that sustain terrorist groups across the North-West, with a focus on disrupting their informants and logistics suppliers.
