Romelu Lukaku, the 30-year-old Belgian striker, has reached an agreement to transition to Serie A side Roma in the current summer transfer window.

After his stint at Chelsea, Lukaku is on the verge of transferring to Roma for the duration of the upcoming season through a loan arrangement. Notably, he had previously been loaned to Serie A club Inter Milan during the prior season.

According to reports from Sky Sports, the financial terms of the deal are estimated to be around £8 million.

All indications suggest that the deal is progressing towards its finalization ahead of the conclusion of the summer transfer window on Friday, September 1.

It’s noteworthy that Roma’s manager, Jose Mourinho, holds a prior coaching connection with Lukaku from their time at Manchester United in the Premier League.

During this summer transfer window, Lukaku’s name was also associated with potential moves to Juventus, Inter Milan, and the Saudi Pro League.

Lukaku’s affiliation with Chelsea began in the summer of 2021, marked by his transfer for a fee of £97.5 million.

As of now, Lukaku has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea in the current season. Meanwhile, Chelsea finds itself in the 10th position in the Premier League standings with four points from three games played.

Roma, on the other hand, holds the 13th place in the Serie A table, having secured one point from two matches contested in the division.
