2023 WWC: England goalkeeper sends message to Super Falcons
England’s goalkeeper, Mary Earps, has expressed the Lionesses’ confidence and fearlessness as they gear up to face the Super Falcons in the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup.
The highly anticipated match between the Super Falcons and the Three Lionesses is set to take place at the Lang Park, Brisbane on Monday, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
As the reigning European champions, England enters the game as the overwhelming favorites, having secured a flawless record of three wins in the group stages.
In an interview with BBC Sports, Mary Earps emphasized that the Lionesses “do not fear anyone” in the Women’s World Cup and are fully prepared for their last-16 encounter with Nigeria.
“Our qualities have shown through since we’ve been playing together. I think we’re in a good spot,” said Earps.
She further added, “I don’t think we fear anyone in general. I’m glad it happened for us [on Tuesday]. It’s not going to always go that way, but as long as we’re keeping the wins on the board, then there’s no complaints here.”
