Nine ward chairpersons and approximately 700 members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kaduna State have switched their allegiance to the Labour Party (LP). The defection was officially received by Ekene Abubakar Adams, the representative for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the state, along with Umaru Mohammadu, the Northwest Chairman of LP, during an event in Kaduna.

These former NNPP members hail from various wards, including Kujama, Narayi, Sabon-Tasha, Kakau, Sabon-Gari Rido, Nasarawa, Gwagwada, and Yelwa.

Ekene, joined by other LP leaders, expressed their support for the decision, citing the growing prominence of the party in the state. He emphasized that the Labour Party is poised to set a new standard for good governance and aims to assume leadership for the betterment of all citizens.

The Chairman of Kujama Ward, Mr. Nuhu Aruwa, expressed his pride in aligning with the LP, while Firdausi George, the Women Leader of Rido Ward, pledged their commitment to contribute significantly to the party’s growth.
