Police arrest 3 suspected electricity cable vandals in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has detained three individuals believed to be involved in cable vandalism with electricity aluminum cables in Saminaka town, Lere Local Government Area of the state. The command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, shared this information with the press on Sunday in Kaduna.
Hassan stated that the command received a report at approximately 4 am on Sunday about the theft in a low-cost housing area on Kafanchan Road, Saminaka town, where unknown individuals were seen with electricity cables.
“Our patrol team was dispatched to the area, and the three suspects, residents of the Ungwan Bawa area of the town, were promptly apprehended,” he mentioned.
The suspects were found in possession of aluminum cables and cutlasses at the time of their arrest. They admitted to cutting the cables from electricity poles along the Saminaka-Kafanchan road.
Hassan indicated that Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) was promptly informed, and an ongoing investigation is in progress. The suspects will face charges in court once the investigation is concluded.
