Tinubu makes new appointment
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Honourable Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
This new role, within the newly established Energy Security Directorate, involves coordinating energy policies, safeguarding critical infrastructure, managing data, providing security coordination, offering risk advisory services, and fostering strategic alliances within Nigeria’s energy sector.
ONSA’s Head of Strategic Communications, Zakari Mijinyawa, stated that the appointment aligns with the government’s commitment to a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply.
The statement emphasized that President Tinubu is focused on enhancing energy security and addressing supply chain challenges.
“In his new position, Amachree will lead key national energy security initiatives to improve energy security and bolster community involvement in protecting Nigeria’s energy resources. His role will be crucial in supporting both short-term and long-term energy sustainability,” the statement noted.
Amachree will collaborate with government ministries, security agencies, energy sector regulators, international partners, and community leaders to address Nigeria’s energy issues.
Mijinyawa also highlighted that Amachree, who holds degrees in Management and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, is well-equipped for this role.
“The National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, extends his congratulations to Hon. Flag Amachree on his appointment,” Mijinyawa added.
