The Benue State Government has intensified its reform of the education sector with a fresh ban on all illegal fees in public and private schools, alongside the compulsory introduction of electronic dossiers (e-Dossiers) for every learner.

The Executive Secretary of the Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examination Board (BEQAEB), Dr. Terna Francis, announced the policy during the board’s maiden meeting with secondary school principals in Makurdi.

He warned that the era of unauthorised levies is over, stressing that the new digital monitoring system is designed to enhance transparency and strengthen accountability across schools.

According to him, the e-Dossier will document each student’s academic journey from Basic 1 to SS3, enabling the board to track performance, student transfers, and exam registration seamlessly.

“It will eliminate excuses, fast-track result processing, and restore credibility to our education system,” he stated.

Francis further revealed that all examination payments have now been fully digitised and must be completed online or through designated banks.

He said cash transactions and handwritten receipts are strictly prohibited, adding that any staff member caught collecting cash will face sanctions.
